Infosys prize 2009 : Professor Ashoke Sen has been chosen for the prestigious Infosys Prize 2009 in Mathematical Sciences.

2009 Shanti Swarup Bhatnagar award : Professor Rajesh Gopakumar has been selected for the 2009 Shanti Swarup Bhatnagar Award in Physics (Physical Sciences).

SSGC -- 2010: A School on Gravitation and Cosmology will be held at the Harish-Chandra Research Institute (HRI) during the period of May 10--22, 2010. The School is open to final year Bachelor's and Master's students, and the aim of the School will be to introduce students to the field of Cosmology. Deadline for application is January 20, 2010.
